5 Tips for Looking Better in Photos

5 Tips for Looking Better in Photos

We all have a friend that always looks amazing in any photo they take and it's time to give them a little competition! From knowing your best angles and strategically placing the camera, to having the perfect glow, these five tips will help you look great in every photo you take.

Tip 1: Position Yourself in an Even Plane

When taking a selfie, always position yourself in an even plane with the other people in the photo. If you stand too close to the camera, you'll look disproportionately larger than the other subjects.

Tip 2: Make Sure Your Makeup is a Perfect Match

When your makeup is the wrong color for your skin tone, this difference can be extremely noticeable when a photo is taken. This is especially true when your foundation is too pale. These tips make it easy to find the correct foundation color, even when it comes to ordering foundation online.

Always remember to pull your foundation down your jawline and neck, too! This helps avoid the unwanted makeup line on the jaw.

Tip 3: Aim for a Relaxed Smile

Getting a photo with a relaxed, natural smile seems easy, but it's not! Before the photo is taken, close your eyes, take a deep breath, and open your eyes right before the shutter clicks. This will help you not only achieve a relaxed smile in all of your photos but will also eliminate the number of photos that are taken with your eyes closed.

Tip 4: Avoid the Dreaded Double Chin by Elongating Your Neck

To help avoid a double chin, push your face forward a bit and tip your chin down slightly. This will feel awkward, but after a while, it'll feel natural and will give you perfect photos every time!

Tip 5: Fill in Your Brows

Even if you have great brows, filling your brows in will give the illusion that you're wide awake in photos. Always opt for a shade slightly darker than your natural brow color to help avoid looking washed out on camera.

Our Brow Fixx gel helps tame and fill in your brows, while the tiny fibers give your brows more structure.
